Statement of Faith

OUR PREACHING will be that the scripture of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writings, without contradiction, and that they are the sole authority for the Christian’s faith and conduct. We hold that the King James Version of the Bible is the preserved word of God.

II Pet. 1:21; II Timothy 3:16-17; Matt. 24:35; Psa. 12:6-7
OUR PREACHING will be that God is one, and that he eternally exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three persons are equal and execute distinct but harmonious offices.
Gen. 1:1; John 10:30; Matt. 28:19; Acts 5:3-4
OUR PREACHING will be that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was obedient unto death, thereby providing the only acceptable atonement for the sin of this world, arose bodily from the grave, ascended bodily into heaven, and is now seated at the Father’s right hand and makes intercession for us.
Isa. 7:14; Matt.1: 18-25; Heb. 10:10; Matt. 28:5-6; Acts 1:9-11; Rom. 8:34
OUR PREACHING will be that the Holy Spirit, in this present age was sent by Jesus Christ to reprove the world of sin, to regenerate all who receive Christ as personal Saviour, to indwell, guide, and teach them the things of God.
Jn. 16:8; Titus 3:5; I Cor. 3:16; Jn. 16:13; Jn. 14:26
OUR PREACHING will be that God is absolutely sovereign, and that in his sovereignty he gave man a free will to accept or reject the salvation he has provided. God is not willing that any should perish. That God foreknows who will be saved, but does not predetermine any man to be condemned. God permits man’s destiny to depend upon man’s choice.
Eph. 1:1; Jn. 1:12; II Pet. 3:9; Rom. 8:29
OUR PREACHING will be that man was created by God in his own image and is in no way a product of evolution. That man lost his holy moral nature at the time of Adam’s disobedience, that Adam fell into a state of total depravity and condemnation and that all of mankind remains in that condition until he is born from above of the Spirit.
Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:17-21
OUR PREACHING will be that Satan is a real personality, the god of this age, who is destined to eternity in the lake of fire along with his angels.
Matt. 4:1; II Cor. 4:4; Rev. 20:1-10
OUR PREACHING will be that salvation from sin and eternal hell is by God’s grace through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, plus nothing and minus nothing. That one who has obtained such is secure in Christ and cannot lose his salvation.
Eph. 2:8-9; Jn. 10:28-30; Eph. 1:13-14; I Jn. 5:9-13
OUR PREACHING will be that Heaven and Hell have been prepared by God and are the only eternal abodes for souls. All those who by faith have trusted in the finished work of Christ, shall live eternally with God in Heaven. All those outside of Christ shall abide forever in the Lake of Fire eternally separated from God. Both Heaven and Hell are real, literal places.
Jn. 14:2-3; Rev. 20:11-22:5
OUR PREACHING will be that the Second Coming of Christ is in two phases: the rapture and the revelation. The rapture is both pre-tribulation and pre-millennial. That at Christ’s revelation he will set up his literal kingdom and will reign over earth for a thousand years.
Jn. 14:3; I Thess. 4:13-17; Col. 3:4; I Thess. 1:10; Rev. 19:1-20:6
OUR PREACHING will be that the local church is congregation of scripturally baptized (single immersion) believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel. Its mission is found in the great commission, to make disciples, to baptize them, and to instruct them in all things Christ has commanded. It is to observe the two ordinances: Baptist (immersion) and the Lord’s Supper. That the local church has the absolute right and biblical necessity of self-government, free from interference by any hierarchy of individuals or organizations. That its one and only head is Jesus Christ. That the officers in a New Testament church are pastor and deacons and that men only are to hold these offices.
Mk. 16:15; Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:41; I Cor. 11:17-33; Rev. 2:1-3:22; Phil. 1:1; I Tim. 3:1
